Project: The book Harnessing the Complexity authored by Robert Axelrod and Micheal D Cohen explain the characteristics of complex adaptive systems. It is a guide to understand the processes of variation, interaction, and selection as a way to make sense of complex systems. The book describes many different components of a system and contributes to a common vocabulary for these elements. This project aimed to help make sense of job hunting process as a complex system, based on the elements of systems and theories explained in the book.

Solution: The team had iterated four different approaches through the concept of blind variation and selective retention, prototyped, and conducted in-depth interviews with career advisors and tarot card reader. The final solution was iterated based on the amalgamation of prehistory, modern, post-modern concepts described by Jürgen Habermas, by understanding the structure and importance of interpretation in tarot card reading and biomimicry. The final product consists of a deck of strategy cards and a journal which helps the users to build a plethora of interpreted strategies that will allow the actor to feel more confident while job hunting.

Outcome: Getting comfortable with an ambiguous process is a crucial requirement every designer should learn to embrace. By the end of this project, the team got familiar with how uncomfortable the ambiguous design process can be and learned to embrace the uncertainty, the possibility of having multi-directions and variations without a specific predefined direction.

Contribution:  Contributed to all the stages of the project development till the project refinement, from beginning to the end.
